This project was born as an answer to an architecture competition launched in 2018 with the goal to create a landmark that first becomes one with the alpine landscape and at the same time rises to turn into a new and unique icon. The structure built into the rock extends over the valley, just like a giant telescope. This makes it possible that the building is both, seen from the outside and open to the outside. The shape of this project is due to the combination of a triangular frame overlooking the Brenta Dolomites recalling the traditional architectural style of the Cermis mountain and a rectangle shaped camera taking pictures of the Fassa Valley and the Dolomites. The subterranean parts of the building are used as service area and the kitchen is installed into the mountain rock while the spaces open to the public offer a great view of the landscape.
