The spirit of a new living idea creates a modern loft in a historical building at the city center of Merano. The roof construction represents the heart of this project, increases its value and preserves the inner and the outer character of the building. By lifting the roof up from the brickwork, an open space emerges which creates a glazed frame for the loft where the light can freely penetrate the rooms. At the front of the building, the elimination of the gable creates the space for a terrace without losing its characteristic face. The interior gets its charm from the already existing external walls in combination with the roof construction and the new elements built out of black steel.
